Since I can remember, I have had lots of ideas for my
own business. There were so many ideas that at times I seriously considered to
become a broker for business ideas. But with the advertising agency JuniorSenior
I came pretty close. There is almost nothing I like better than develop
creative concepts and solutions for businesses and ensure that their sales
improve. And I am proud that we succeed at that quite well.
But still now and then the business ideas keep popping
into my head. In addition to advertising and coaching, I am now working on the
development of a ‘webshop’. I am so excited, because I am now in the best
phase, the creation phase. The design and the copy are almost done, samples of
the products from around the world are sent towards me and I visualized the
success of this business completely
Yet there is a fear in me. I know my old pitfall will
announce itself in a little while. How many times did I start something, but I
lost my interest after the first setback or criticism. To bring a plan to a
successful conclusion, I can do very well for others, but not so well for
myself.
I decided to do a coaching session with myself. It is
so great that I can test myself with NEI (Neuro Emotional Integration) and
investigate the source of this extremely annoying trait to abandon a good plan
too soon. I define for myself the goal: "I can persevere and make my own
plans a success”. This sentence tests weak. Mmmm.
Then begins the puzzle as to why I am not a go-getter
in this field. If I was aware of the reason, the problem would be long gone. I
discover that I sabotage myself when the reward (success) cannot be reached
quick enough. In other words, I am impatient. Imagine that it will not go as I
expected.
Then I discover that the first time I felt this as
well happened when I was 19 years old. I was a trainee at a school and was
teaching English to bold and often very demotivated teenage boys at a Lower
Technical School in a deprived area. I remember I was the only "girl"
walking around in that school and I felt terrible and sometimes even
threatened. How could they send me to this school? This I had absolutely not
expected. The result of this experience is that I do not like unpleasant
surprises and if I can prevent something unpleasant, I will choose the easy
route and abandon the plan. Therefore, I drop the implementation of my plan so
easily. Okay what do I do next.
With NEI we replace the sabotaging emotion, in this
case ‘impatience and cannot cope with unexpected things’, by something more
positive such as ‘I am confident that I can properly execute this idea.’ For
this we use acupressure massage, breathing and visualization at the same time.
It works. My affirmation: "I can persevere when it comes to successfully implementing
my own plans, even if there are unexpected things" now tests strong. Pfff this
feels wonderful, now I have even more confidence that this webshop is a great
idea and will be a success ;-).
I will certainly present the launch of the webshop on
this blog. If you want to know if and why you sabotage yourself, make an
appointment for a NEI session. An absolute guarantee for great insights.

I am reading the book “Yes! 50 secrets from the
science of persuasion." It contains great number tricks and tips to
convince others that you are right, to sell your products and services better,
to make people spend more money (or to make sure you as a consumer don’t make
others influence you to buy more;-), to get more cooperation from your
children, and many more.I myself am mainly persuaded when feelings are
involved (the kinesthetic type) and therefore one study in the book interest... Continue reading...

"I am admirable.” The client looks at me as if
I'm crazy. "I cannot tell myself that, it is simply not true." An
hour later, she goes home with this affirmation on a note and a promise to
repeat this little sentence three times per day (but preferably more often).
Talking to yourself, provided it is positive and
constructive, is one of the best methods for a healthy and happy life. I’ve
been talking to myself since I was a child. I think all children do. But I've
never stopped. A... Continue reading...

I am writing this blog while I sit beside my pool at
home in Nice, southern France. Five years ago I moved here with my husband and
two daughters from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I am finally living the dream I
have had for more than 30 years since I came to the Côte d'Azur for the first
time with my parents on holiday. I visualized so many times what it would be
like to live in Nice.
Thirty years of visualizing is long. Now I know how it
works and so it takes less long. I've discove... Continue reading...

The past few weeks I have had a remarkable number of clients who subconsciously struggled with the "meaning of life". And not just people from one age group. No, a wide range between 8 and 75 years old. For me this is a sign I also need to work again on my own 'perception' of the meaning I give to my life. I am convinced that we are here to fulfill a task, each of us in a different field or a different way. Often this task is so obvious, we do not see that it is right in front of our nose. Bu... Growing and changing is an ever ongoing process. You can grow unconsciously and allow experiences to happen to you without you planning them. You live your life as it comes. Or you can choose to actively strive and look for inner growth and change. If you want to grow spiritually you have to choose your mission: why are you here, why do you live this life, what is your contribution to this world? Your mission can be anything. For example, it is my mission to help people find their passion and... Continue reading...

Every living creature on earth feels the urge to blossom. The only thing that prevents humans from blossoming are their limiting ideas about themselves. We often have critical feelings about ourselves with regards to: - our capacities and talents - our performance - our status in groups - our body and the way we look - our financial situation
A healthy self esteem is when you have a respectful attitude towards yourself and when you are happy with all the capacities you have and you accept also the ... Continue reading...

The colours people like and often wear can tell you a lot about the mood they are in. Since I work as a coach I find it more and more interesting to use colours as part of the therapy. I have seen people change and behave differently when wearing other colours. And it is great that NEI therapy offers such a simple and accurate technique to discover what colours empower you on every level.
Whether we are aware of it or not, colour affects our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual self. Ou... Continue reading...

Most people lead their lives by focussing on others instead of themselves. An unpleasant phonecall can keep you angry or frustrated for hours. You do not say what you think, because someone else might interpret it differently. You are afraid of something that might happen to you in the future. What is it that makes us feel and behave like this? Our behaviour is lead by our subconscience. Our subconscience is programmed by our experiences, a bit like a computer. And these experiences influence... Continue reading...
